Flowers: Paphiopedilum Pinocchio has very beautiful flowers. Its flowers reach a size of 5 to 8 cm. The Paphiopedilum Pinocchio is a continuously flowering species, a new bud forms under the spent flower. After about 5 to 6 flowers, the branch dies and new branches grow back from the young shoots.

The Paphiopedilum Pinocchio is also called Venus's slipper or lady's slipper. The orchid owes this name to its striking shoe-shaped lip. The Paphiopedilum can be found in nature in Europe, North America and Asia. The Venus shoe is a classic plant that can show off in the living room during flowering and can be placed in a cool room after flowering for the development of new shoots and flower buds.

Place the Paphiopedilum in a shady place. Paphiopedilum should never be in direct sunlight.
A Paphiopedilum Venus shoe should not be too wet. One watering every seven to nine days is sufficient, check that no water remains at the bottom of the pot. Water the Paphiopedilum again when the soil is almost dry. In the summer period, an orchid can dry up faster and more watering is required.

Repotting: It is important to repot the Paphiopedilum in orchid soil once every three years, or sooner if the soil has decomposed.

Use an airy soil mixture for the Paphiopedilum that is specially suitable for orchids; never place the Paphiopedilum in potting soil.

After flowering, cut off the flower stem. The orchid produces a new flower bud from the new shoots. This takes on average about eight to twelve months. As plants grow older, more and more shoots appear and the Paphiopedilum also blooms with multiple flowers.

Nelumbogarden packs and ships its plants very carefully. We use sturdy cardboard boxes and pack with kraft paper. It is possible for soil to fall out of the pot or a leaf to break during transport. We do not guarantee these two points. We ask you to open the box carefully and not with a knife or sharp object. Carefully remove the (kraft) paper. Some plants lower their leaves in the dark, these are restored within a few days. Due to changes in the season, the plants may differ from the plant shown in the photo.

Our company does not work with chemical pesticides. We pack our plants in recycled material and limit the use of plastic to a minimum.
