Shipping of the Colocasia Cintho Aloha is done very carefully in wet soil, it is possible that leaves are damaged by the change in temperature or transport and may die immediately after arrival, this is normal with this species and occurs regularly and is not covered by the warranty. If this occurs, cut the leaves and let the plant sprout again. In a few weeks the plant will form new leaves. Colocasia may not be repotted immediately after arrival and is not suitable for placement in clay granules. Colocasia is best suited outdoors with plenty of sun and moist soil.

Colocasia grows from a tuber, as soon as the plant comes out it can occur that the old tuber shrivels and rots. When repotting a Colocasia it can therefore occur that rotting remains of a tuber are found, this is a normal phenomenon and does not mean that the plant is sick or dying. In this way the tuber splits further and further and new tubers will form.

Colocasia are shipped as rooted plants as shown in the photo. Colacasia Cintho Aloha is best suited for outdoor use and likes plenty of light and water. This species is not suitable under a daylight lamp or in a greenhouse cabinet, in this situation the plant will die within a few weeks.

Care Colocasia "Cintho Aloha":

In spring, place your Colocasia "Cintho Aloha" in a warm and light place. Colocasia Cintho Aloha likes a lot of water (the soil should not dry out). If you have received your plant, we recommend to avoid direct sunlight in the beginning and to let the plant harden off / get used to it first. You can leave your Colocasia in a pot or place it in the ground, a bank spot near a pond is often ideal.
At the end of summer you can let the plant rest, no longer fertilize. Your Colocasia leaves will start falling off in fall. As soon as the plant has settled down, you can remove the rhizome from the soil. You gently brush it clean and remove dead plant residues. You keep the rhizome in a cool, dry and dark place to repot it next spring.

Shipping times may differ due to the large quantity of orders and weather conditions. During the cold months we send our plants with a Heat Pack if needed. We keep a close eye on the weather forecasts.

Due to the large large quantity of orders, adding plants to existing orders is not possible.

ATTENTION; We pack and ship our plants very carefully, damage to a leaf or discoloration is not covered by the guarantee.

Nelumbogarden packs and ships its plants very carefully. We use sturdy cardboard boxes and pack with kraft paper. It is possible for soil to fall out of the pot or a leaf to break during transport. We do not guarantee these two points. We ask you to open the box carefully and not with a knife or sharp object. Carefully remove the (kraft) paper. Some plants lower their leaves in the dark, these are restored within a few days. Due to changes in the season, the plants may differ from the plant shown in the photo.

Our company does not work with chemical pesticides, we use biological pest control by means of beneficial insects that eliminate the harmful ones. Despite careful checking, an insect can travel in the package, these are completely harmless and contribute to a better and healthy environment. We only pack our plants in recycled paper. We limit the use of plastic to a minimum.
